A Campaign for All Us
I was raised in a conservative Christian home; I still believe in God and still hold onto my faith. As I have grown older, the more I have learned, the more I have experienced for better or worse. Life can get tough; it can throw many curveballs that you didn’t see coming or anticipate showing up at your front door. The challenges we face in life shape who we become and help open our minds to different ideals, thoughts and differing opinions. Recently it has become more pronounced and clearer than ever that divisions run deep, respectful disagreements have become a powder keg for hatefulness, ugliness and cruelty.
What happened to the days when we could disagree but still treat one another with kindness, dignity and a modicum of respect? I do not wish to invoke his name, to squarely lay the blame at the feet of one person. He who shall not be named is partially a symptom of the disease that has crept into all reaches of life, from politics to faith to everyday living. This rot was growing, subtly and quality beneath us for many years until recently it became louder and louder making it almost impossible to cut through the noise, I believe now more than ever it’s time to reclaim the days when we could have disagreements, debates and dialogue with kindness, dignity and RESPECT.
I urge all of you to join this fight for our freedoms, our rights and our liberty. This campaign is for all of us, from all walks of life, all beliefs of faith or not, for all Hoosiers. We might feel defeated; we may think all hope is lost but we cannot give up this fight, for all our futures and the futures of those yet to come depend on us, and we can’t afford to fail any longer.
